Over the years, I’ve found the most impactful programs I run are the ones that are right at the edge of my current level of understanding. They are inspired by what I’ve seen for myself that’s been truly helpful, but taught out past the edge of my knowing. They are the ones where one of my favorite George Bernard Shaw quotes rings most true:

“I am not a teacher – just a fellow traveler of whom you asked the way. I pointed ahead – of myself as well as you.”

The inside-out understanding that I write and speak about in all my work is a psychological insight with deep spiritual roots. As I wrote in The Inside-Out Revolution:

“Our experience of life is created from the inside out via the principles of Mind, Consciousness, and Thought. We’re living in the feeling of our thinking, not the feeling of the world.”

The implications of that simple shift in understanding are startlingly profound. If our experience of life is not being created by our circumstances, then we no longer need to change the world in order to change the way we feel. If our experience is not being created by other people, then we no longer need to attempt to control their behavior (or submit to their control) in order to feel happy, loved, and whole.

And perhaps best of all, we no longer need to be afraid of our own experience, knowing that it will change and flow like shadows do throughout the day in relation to the sun’s position in the sky. In the relative peace and quiet of no longer needing to change, control, or fear the world around us, we begin to notice the inner world of silence, beauty, and wonder. We fill up with the simple feeling of being alive – the “aliveness” at the heart of who and what we really are. We experience a depth of love and gratitude that is both the reward most of us seek and the direct path to uncovering more of it.

From that place of peace and well-being, we’re more present in the world and more available to others, Our brain seems to work better, our common sense emerges, we make inspired leaps in our work, and we are able to thrive where we’re planted and create more of the circumstances we’re drawn to in the world.

But what if it doesn’t? As one of my early apprentices in this understanding, Jamie Smart, articulated beautifully, “If the principles are so great, where’s my Ferrari?”

GETTING REAL is a four month exploration of why life is beautiful when it’s beautiful, why it sucks when it sucks, and how to fall in love with all of it. You will see where your current level of understanding is in and out of line with reality, and how to notice more quickly and let yourself off the hook more gracefully.

Ultimately, the goal of the program is simple:

To live in the feeling of your true nature and thrive, regardless of circumstances

Let me tell you more about what’s on offer…

Here’s how it all works…

We’ll begin on Monday the 2nd of May with The Advanced Course 2022. Each weekday from Monday to Friday we’ll get together online at 8am Pacific/11am Eastern/4pm UK/5pm CET to explore getting real with the Three Principles following three weekly themes:

Week One – “No, really!”
Week Two – “So what?”
Week Three – “Yeah, but…”

We’ll cap off our final week together with two days of deeper exploration, sitting in the peace of Mind and riding the elevator of Consciousness. Then over the next four months, we’ll spend six more full days together online culminating in September.

You’ll also get:

  • Six masterclasses with me and some of my favorite teachers, mentors, and guides in this understanding
  • Over 60 short videos especially created to help you touch the space within between our live interactions
  • An online (but off Facebook) forum group to share your experiences and deepen your sense of being part of a spiritual community
  • Instant access to 60+ short videos from last year’s Going Deeper program, each one taking a closer look at spiritual teachings in the light of the Three Principles understanding

One of my most popular YouTube videos goes deeper into our grounding in the inside-out understanding. It begins with an exploration of “via positiva and via negativa”, goes through a couple of flip charts worth of visual metaphors, and finishes with a few thoughts on both our essential nature and the nature of the spiritual journey.

Many people have said that it’s one of the clearest articulations of the Three Principles they’d come across, so I thought I’d share it in its entirety here and give you a sense of what we’ll be exploring…

I have been searching for the space before words for 30 years of my life. This space is peaceful, sweet, beautiful, and comes with a nourishing feeling. It is expansive and still. There is nothing and everything here. It is home. People often call this place “spirit” or “God”,  and before working with Michael Neill I would touch this place for a nanosecond and then desperately try to find my way back.

My time with Michael has helped to wake me up to and deepen my awareness of this place inside me. It has allowed me to rest in and live more of my life from this space regardless of context – at home with family, at work with clients – anywhere and everywhere I go. Best of all, I can easily find my way back when it seems as though I’ve lost my way. If you get the chance to study with Michael, I highly recommend you take it so you can sit back, relax, and experience this space more and more for yourself while impacting the people around you through presence, love, compassion, and a deeper understanding of who and what we really are at core.

Here’s the calendar. Because all our sessions will be recorded, it’s possible to do as much or as little of the program live as you prefer…

In between the live sessions, we’ll be hosting bi-weekly masterclasses (which will be on Wednesdays at 11am PT for 90 minutes) and sharing brief daily videos created exclusively for this program from Monday to Friday beginning in June.

Thank you so much for this wonderful course, to Michael, Lynne, and all the participants. My head is full to bursting and I’m really looking forward to some time sitting in the silence and letting it all settle. Then I might know what I will take forward from it : ). Very grateful to have had this opportunity.

My journey: from understanding to realisation, from fog to floating and a deeper understanding of who I am. Loving myself instead of self judgement and knowing I can reach a gentle and peaceful space to replenish my soul. Whenever I feel the need. Thank you Michael and everyone who listened and shared.

Prior to meeting Michael, I’d only believed changes could be made incrementally. They’d have to be specific to one area at a time and placed on a self-created timetable to most accurately measure the quality of the change. Michael’s ability to connect and his understanding of the human experience as a coach was unparalleled to anything I’d ever seen before. It was as if he knew exactly where to point or that he knew precisely which thread to pull to unravel the wisdom, resilience, creativity and peace he knew existed inside me. Simply put, Michael didn’t just change my life: he transformed it. Words could never convey my appreciation adequately. For that transformation, I am deeply humbled and grateful.
