There is another world that lies just beyond all that we know. This other world is the space within all of us – what is sometimes called:
- Our true self
- The unknown
- The infinite creative potential
Syd Banks, the enlightened Scottish welder, called this space by many names:
“The inner space that lies beyond all of our concepts and beliefs.”
“Pure consciousness, uncontaminated by our personal thinking.”
“The ultimate answer.”
Regardless of what he called it, he was very clear that it was what everybody in this world is looking for.
By recognizing this world beyond the known, we find ourselves drawn into its comfort and ease. In this world, love and wisdom reveal their many faces to us.
When we enter this space we lighten up. We fill with feelings that uplift and guide, and with thoughts that nourish and inspire. As we become more familiar and more comfortable in the unknown, we access greater levels of well being and consciousness.
We naturally feel more optimistic, are more accepting of our inevitable down times, see more beauty in the world, live with more gratitude, and find greater kindness and ease in our relationships.
As the mystic poet Rumi wrote:
Out beyond ideas
of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down
in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
– even the phrase “each other” –
do not make any sense.
On the 16th of May, Dr. Dicken Bettinger and Michael Neill will be acting as “tour guides” to this inner dimension – a dimension so ordinary and close to us at all times that we are often unaware of it even when it shows up in our lives throughout the day. The goal of the day is simple – to take you from theory to practice; from philosophy to experience; from the life you imagine to the life you have, fully lived.
Because wouldn’t it be a shame to have a wonderful life and not notice?

What Michael has to say about Dicken:
“When I first met Dicken Bettinger, I remember remarking to my wife on what a lovely man he was. When I finally spent some time getting to know him, I realized his ‘loveliness’ came out of an incredible depth of insight into what life is and where it comes from.
Every time we teach together, I’m reminded of how different it is to live from the deepest place inside ourselves than to just ‘talk about thought’. My own level of aliveness and insight starts to rise, and I leave more in love with life than ever before.”
What Dicken has to say about Michael:
“Michael makes me laugh. And not just because he is entertaining, which he is, but because he talks from a place within that is full of lightness and humor. Perhaps every bone in his body is a funny bone.
But what I know is he has an uncanny ability to poke fun at our humanity in a way that allows me and others to laugh at our bumbling humanness. And he points toward the space within of our lighthearted magnificence, which tickles our funny bones when we recognize the truth of that.”
